Michael was born in Liverpool in 1956, when he was nine years old his father bought him his first set of oil paints, and from an early age he began drawing and painting. After leaving High school, he enrolled at Wigan School of Art and Design, were he studied Graphic Design and Illustration, but after two years he decided to move to London and pursued a career in Illustration. He has worked for most of the major London Advertising Acencies in a career spanning 25 years.

Michael relocated back to Liverpool in 2002, to concentrate more on his painting. His main interest is portraiture and landscape, and the effects of light together with textures. He has taken part in a number of group exhibitions, both in London and Liverpool.
